TRAFFIC CONTROLLER NSW COURSE
This course is for those wishing to launch themselves into the traffic control industry
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a Traffic Controller NSW using a stop/slow bat or similar device.
To obtain a SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT) card, training and assessment must be carried out by a SafeWork NSW approved training provider. Evolution Training Solutions is a SafeWork NSW approved training provider.
- Course runs over 1.5 days
- Assessment is done onsite after the student has completed sufficient work experience

- RIIWHS206Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
On successful completion of this Course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the Nationally Recognised units of competency listed and a SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card.

Course Delivery:

- Control traffic and operate communication devices
Your learning outcomes will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to:
- Stop/direct road users using a stop/slow bat
- Understand stopping distances
- Monitor traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs according to traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes
- Understand Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) also known as Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for the site
- Assess and respond to changes in the environment, for traffic conditions
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) and operational requirements
- Maintain traffic incident reports
- Carry out risk assessments for personal safety
- Toolbox Talks
- Use communication devices
Course requirements:
- 17 years of age
- 100 points of ID including Photo ID on the day (download flyer below for ID Checklist)
- Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. Go to www.usi.gov.au to register
- Appropriate clothing (high vis, long sleeves) hat and work boots
