There are no formal requirements for this course, however Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation can only be physically assessed at floor level, for a minimum of two minutes, so consideration must be given to the strain on the lower back and knee caps. If the student has any temporary condition(s) which may prohibit the performance of this task it is recommended that the student reschedule their course attendance until such time as they are more capable of completing the physical aspects of the Performance Evidence.
To assist with performing the requisite two minutes of CPR the student should bring along such padding as required to make them comfortable during the process.
Prospective learners will be required to have a good level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (LLN), and students must be proficient in speaking English. Students need to be able to communicate effectively and confidently and interpret a range of phrases and instructions associated with performing competent CPR and First Aid.
